Monochromes




Color often announces the coast before anything else does. Monochromes asks what remains when that is taken away. Boats, birds, water, weather, people, and the tools of fishing are reduced to light, form, texture, and gesture. The subjects are familiar; stripped of color, they sometimes become something else entirely.
